Jane Ponder
My name is Jane Ponder and I grew up in Weaverville, NC, where I met and married my husband, Jackie. After Jackie accepted a job at Sonoco, we moved to Hartsville in 1997. We are the parents of 4 grown children - Alex, Heather, Jaclyn and Courtney, and have 3 grandchildren. I have taught at LBCP for 14 years and have worked a total of 26 years with preschoolers.
Working with preschoolers is my mission field and I love seeing them learn and grow both spiritually and academically. Children are our future and we need to teach, invest in, and love them to help them become the individuals that God has planned for them.
Deborah Guest
My name is Deborah Guest, I am married to my husband Frank. We are the parents of 4 grown children and the proud grandparents to our granddaughter, Elora. I earned my teaching degree at Charleston Southern University. I taught in Charleston and later at North Hartsville Elementary before joining the staff at Lakeview Baptist Church in 2013. I have been the director of the preschool since 2014 and have now transitioned to the role of church staff member supervising the running of the preschool. Along with this, I am the church’s Missions Mobilizer and serve on the Ladies Ministry Team.

Ways to Get Involved
Preschool Snack
This team is responsible for preparing the snack for the preschool classes each weekday during the school year based on a pre-prepared snack schedule. This team operates on a rotation schedule.
Preschool Recess Subs
This team is in development. This team is responsible for providing volunteers 2-3 days a week who will monitor recess to allow the preschool teachers to have a "planning period."
Operation Christmas Child
OCC is a missions opportunity spearheaded by the preschool and children's ministries at LBC that collects items and packages shoeboxes for the Samaritan's Purse that will be distributed to children around the world. These shoeboxes give children the gift of the Gospel in addition to toys and personal items that they may never have had access to before.
