Our Current Teams

Children

Sunday Morning

Sunday morning activities during the 9:15 hour are for children birth through 5th grade and during the 10:30 hour for children birth through 3rd grade. The goal is to help children learn more about the Bible and who God is through age-appropriate Bible stories, games, crafts, missions moments, and music.

Sunday Night Kids

Sunday Night Kids typically meets every Sunday evening from 5-7 during the school year and is intended for children in 5K through 5th grade. Kids participate in different rotations including games, Bible story, crafts, missions, and music.

Special Events

These special events include but are not limited to Vacation Bible School, Fall Festival, the Easter egg hunt, Winter Wonderland, A Night in Bethlehem, and more.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

This is a 5-day event during the summer for children who have completed 4K through 5th grade with classes available for children birth-3K whose parents are volunteers.

Fall Festival

This is a 1-day event held the Wednesday before Halloween for the community.

Provides meals and food for the youth group

Fundraising

The fundraising group plans and executes fundraisers to assist the youth ministry raise funds for missions and to participate in events and camps such as DNOW and MFUGE.

Event Planning

This group exists to plan and execute social events for the youth group that are in addition to normal youth group time. Some examples are: Friendsgiving, pool parties, 5th Quarter, Christmas parties, lock-ins, etc.

Disciple Now weekend long event with other local churches

Music Workshop

Collaboration between our worship ministry and youth ministry to culivate a heart of worship and necessary skills and training to participate in worship leadership

Childcare

On-site childcare for youth volunteers during Wednesday night activities. *We do meet as a whole leadership team on the first Sunday of the month in the youth building at 3:00.

Transportation

This group exists to ensure that Governor's School students and others who may need a ride to church have one. Currently the bus makes trips to GSSM on Sunday mornings at 10:10am and Wednesday evenings at 5:50pm.

Worship

Worship Team

Responsible for the music elements of the Sunday morning service each week and includes singers and musicians. Team members are responsible for attending all relevant rehearsals and sound checks for the services they are assigned to and for practicing their assigned music as needed in advance of rehearsals/services.

Production

This team is responsible for all of the technical elements for Sunday morning services and special events at LBC. This includes but is not limited to the maintenance and purchasing of technical equipment, training new members, trouble-shooting and fixing any technical issues, and managing the livestream.

First Impression

Serve prior to and during worship services as greeters and ushers to make sure everyone is welcomed to the church, has someone to turn to if they have any questions, have assistance finding seats, and provide support to the safety team as needed.

Missions

Jerusalem

Jerusalem Team is responsible for planning and coordinating mission opportunities within Hartsville and Darlington County. This includes working with organizations/other churches to determine mission opportunities, how LBC can best support the needs of the mission opportunities, communicating the needs to the church family, and ensuring that any physical items collected are delivered to the appropriate parties.

Judea and Samaria

Judea/Samaria Team is responsible for planning and coordinating mission opportunities within South Carolina and the United States. This includes working with organizations/other churches to determine how LBC can best support the needs of mission opportunities and communicating the needs to the church family. This also includes planning and coordinating mission work days and overnight mission trips.

Ends of the Earth

Ends of the Earth Team is responsible for planning and coordinating mission opportunities outside of the United States. This includes working with organizations/other churches to determine mission opportunities, how LBC can best support the needs of the mission opportunities, communicating the needs to the church family, and ensuring that any physical items collected are delivered to the appropriate parties. This also includes planning and coordinating mission work days and overnight mission trips.

Upward Basketball

Upward Basketball is held every Saturday, January through February, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the PFLC. Our goal is to bring kids and their families closer to Christ through involvement in basketball. We have a tremendous game-day environment. The concessions stand is operated by the youth group and the proceeds are split between youth & missions.
